Every now and then, one needs to refresh their mind, body, and soul, and which is why most of us end up finding solace by traveling. Rajesh from Korba in Chattisgarh, also felt the same and decided to go on a family trip to South India. In an awe to experience a different culture, Rajesh along with his family and three other families, booked an exciting South India travel with family to Mysore, Coorg, & Ooty, and here’s what he wrote about his roller-coaster ride.

We were a group of 4 families which included 8 adults and 7 children. It may sound very fun-filled and a joyous trip but it was also quite challenging to manage a group of 15 members, especially when the kids are between 4 to 8 years old. All of us just felt like heading out somewhere which is when we decided to collaborate with our friends too.
We asked them about this trip and decided mutually on our destination. We wanted to explore a destination where we haven’t been before, and that is when South India struck us. We instantly decided to book a trip via TravelTriangle as I have been traveling with them for the past 3 years. We raised a query, and that was it. All we were left with was the uncontrollable excitement to get going on this South India travel with family!

On the very first day, we reached Bangalore airport, collected our luggage, and boarded a pre-booked traveler which was suitable for all of us to travel together. Our driver was very cooperative and greeted us when we arrived. He took us to the Adyar Ananda Bhawan restaurant on the way to Mysore.
On reaching Mysore, we checked-in at the MB International Hotel which was a nice hotel. We rested for a while and later started out for sightseeing of this royal city. We visited the famous places like Srirangapatna which was the summer palace of Tipu Sultan, Tipu Fort & Temple, and Dariya Daulat Bagh.
Other places that we visited were Gumbaz, Maharaja Palace, Mysore Zoo and more. All of them were historical places and kids were enjoying playing around in the spacious gardens as well. The best place to spend more time with family while sightseeing in Mysore according to us would be the Lighting garden.
The next day we had an early breakfast and started out for Coorg. The journey by road from Mysore to Coorg was quite refreshing. We reached there in about 3 hours and all of us fell in love with Coorg at the first sight. The weather was amazing and we couldn’t have asked for more.
Later we checked-in at the Devamani Coorg Nature Holidays Resort. It was a beautiful property to explore and spend crazy nights with friends. The first day we spent at the resort and enjoyed whole night playing games. It was pretty evident why Coorg is also known as the “Scotland of India”.
We spend the best of two days in Coorg and explored places like Abbey Falls, Raja’s Seat, Dubare Reserve Forest, and Omkareshwara Temple. The best moments were spent at the shooting spot wherein we clicked quite a lot of pictures and spent the later half of the day in shopping which was a great experience as well.
On the fourth day, we finished our breakfast early embarked on a journey to the magical hills of Ooty. The entire journey took about 6 hours, but we really enjoyed going round and round the rocky mountains. On reaching, we checked-in at the Delightz Inn Tiger Hill Resort.

After freshening up for a bit, we took a toy train to Coonoor via the Nilgiri Mountain Railway. It was really fascinating, especially for the kids to go through the tunnels in the mountains. We reached Coonoor in less than an hour and went ahead with the sightseeing.
The weather was pleasant to explore the high point places like Lamb’s Rock, and Dolphin Nose Point. We also visited the Sims Park, which is almost like the botanical gardens in Ooty. The kids were very happy playing around in the garden and clicking pictures on the giant trees. In the evening we returned to Ooty, and as it had been a long day, all of us retired to bed early.
The next day had all of us excited post breakfast as we were looking forward to explore Ooty and its natural charm. We’ve heard so much about Ooty as it is the most famous hill stations in South India. With one day in hand, we tried to cover the famous places like the Botanical Gardens, Doddabetta Point, Rose Garden, and the Tea Factory.
Post spending the past five days in 3 most beautiful cities of South India, we had arrived on the last day of our trip. We finished our breakfast and left for Bangalore early in the morning so that we could make good use of the time there as well.
The best place to make the most of our time was the Fun World and that’s where we decided to go in Bangalore. We enjoyed in the pool, the amazing rides and the thrilling Snow World. It was such a jolly time to watch the kids enjoy ice-skating inside the Snow World.
Later, we also visited the Meenakshi Mall which was located on the way to the airport. We indulged in a bit of shopping at the mall, bought souvenirs, and were soon on our way back to Korba. Overall, the whole journey of our South India travel with family was quite exhaustive but worth every moment spent with my family and friends.
Cherished Memory Of Our Family Trip To South India
The best part and the most cherished memory of this epic journey would be our bonding and spending more time with each other as a group. Spending leisure time with friends is something we miss during our busy scheduled. Also, it was quite an interesting trip for all the kids. My four-year old son Naksh enjoyed a lot and is full of memories now. Usually he was close to his mum, but I’m glad that even I got to cherish most of my time with him.
